Car Driving Tips

The power transmission of the car is firstly transmitted from the engine to the gearbox, and then from the drive shaft to the drive wheels, so that the car moves forward. The amount of power output depends on the extent of the accelerator pedal. From the point of view of fuel economy, with the smallest power output and the fastest speed, there will be the highest work efficiency.

Refuel lightly, brake lightly, brake early

Braking hard, starting hard, and stepping on the accelerator are all taboos to save fuel. Fuel-saving tests have shown that stepping on the accelerator to the bottom costs 2 to 3 times more fuel than driving at medium speeds. Therefore, the throttle range should be appropriately reduced on the premise of ensuring the normal driving of the car. When you see a red light or when you are entering or exiting the highway, you can lightly step on the brakes in advance to slow down and use the remaining power of the engine to let the vehicle slide forward.

Accelerate after warming up

Running the engine cold is more fuel-intensive than running it when the temperature rises, so don’t accelerate right away when you start it, but slow down for a few minutes to let the engine warm up before accelerating.

Grasp the economical speed of the vehicle

The economical speed refers to the most fuel-efficient driving speed. The economical speed of various models varies. Read the vehicle manual carefully, but it is generally around 70-90 km/h. Below or above this speed, fuel consumption goes up.

Pay attention to the running-in period of new cars

Whether the driving method during the break-in period is correct or not has a great impact on the fuel economy of the engine in the future. Therefore, you must keep in mind the driving principles of the new car’s running-in period, such as the speed not exceeding 80 kilometers per hour and the speed not exceeding 4000 rpm, and never break the precept.

Reasonable use of air conditioning

When the temperature is suitable, when the speed is less than 60 kilometers per hour, you can open the window for ventilation without turning on the air conditioner, or only use the ventilation function of the air conditioner instead of its refrigeration function, so that the air conditioner compressor will not start, thus saving fuel. However, when the speed is higher than 90 kilometers per hour, it is not recommended to open the windows for ventilation, because the air resistance at this time is very large, and it is more fuel-efficient to turn on the air conditioner.
